A NC Best Employer for 3 Consecutive Years!

Wilmington Design Company has ranked 12th statewide in Business North Carolina’s 2020 list of Best Employers, making it our third consecutive year given this honor.

Released by Best Companies Group, the list recognizes small-to-medium-sized businesses that cultivate positive corporate culture and workplace excellence. Organizations were ranked based on their benefits packages, sustainable practices, telecommuting, and total compensation.

“We are extremely honored and excited to be included in this list for the 3rd year in a row. I think that it says a lot about our team, how we’ve grown over the years, and our dedication to make Wilmington Design Company a great place to work,” said Bill Hunter, President and Creative Director of Wilmington Design.

The trend for perks and benefits have shifted with today’s workforce who are more keenly aware of things that contribute to work/life balance and overall quality of life. “In recent years, we’ve focused on increasing employee engagement and that has become a large part of our overall hiring strategy,” said Kim Hunter, Director of Operations. “Our company culture is in direct alignment with the reason that many choose to live and work in the Wilmington area.”

The entire company has been involved in shaping the direction of the overall culture at WDC. Many of the policy decisions and benefits were driven by direct input from the employees. “What makes this recognition so special is that it’s determined by those who know us best: our team,” said Kim Hunter. “We take tremendous pride in our people and are grateful to them for making WDC an amazing work environment.”
