16 Secrets to the Perfect Thanksgiving

16 Secrets to the Perfect Thanksgiving

Just in time for your Thanksgiving feast, our team has compiled a list of 16 secrets to having the perfect Thanksgiving. Here’s our expert advice:

1. Stephanie:
Use vanilla extract when you’re making pumpkin pie (nutmeg is overrated).

2. Jamie:
Watch the special Brad Pitt Thanksgiving episode of Friends, “The One with the Rumor,” for the 3,057 time to see him perform the Rachel Green hair toss.

3. Stephen:
Give thanks and eat slowly.

4. Nick:
Listen to Alice’s Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie.

5. Melissa:
Don’t forget Zantac! Especially if you have to go to a Thanksgiving Lunch with your spouse’s family and then Thanksgiving Dinner with yours.

6. Keith:
Brine the turkey for at least 24hrs before cooking it. The turkey will have a lot of flavor and not be dried out.

7. Chuck:
Keep scavengers out of the kitchen by keeping snacks and appetizers in another location in the house.

8. Carolyn:
Drink wine while you cook.

9. Mike:
DO NOT PLAY CHRISTMAS MUSIC.

10. Kim:
Unplug completely and count the blessings in front of you…they’re much easier to see without the glare of your favorite device 🙂

11. Eric:
Don’t work on Black Friday, and enjoy that time with your family instead!

12. Amy:
There is only ONE kind of cranberry sauce: Ocean Spray.

13. Bill:
I second Amy’s answer.

14. Kelly:
Murihead Pumpkin Butter. You can use it in so many different ways. For instance:

William-Sonoma Pumpkin Dessert Squares

15. Jason:
Marshmallows are mandatory in the sweet potatoes.

16. Rebecca:
Save room for dessert!
