New WDC site: Better, stronger, faster.

Yes, we have the technology. Wilmington Design Company is excited to announce a newly enhanced online presence with the redesign and re-launch of our company website. The new site officially went live on May 14th 2012.

“We recognize that our website serves not only as a first impression of our brand, but also as an extension of our growing portfolio,” explained WDC president, Bill Hunter. “With the new website, we wanted to reflect the same quality, usability, and visual appeal that we strive to achieve for all our clients.”

As a full-service design and marketing agency, we’ve earned a reputation for building tech-savvy websites with high visual appeal for businesses throughout the southeast. When our team began focusing on creating a new site to represent the company, the result was a better platform in which to engage visitors, attract business, and showcase our best and latest work.

“We employed years of analytic data from the previous website to gauge what visitors were looking for, and using that data, we steered our efforts into improving usability and access to key features of the new site,” said Carolyn Pikoulas, lead designer on the project.

One of the most notable improvements to the website is a reformatted portfolio. The new portfolio gives visitors access to a much larger variety of work. Visitors can now view project examples by category or individual client. Each project is presented within a large slideshow containing multiple views.

Other notable features include: new top-level navigation, streamlined service pages, client list page, and a free “Business Marketing Toolkit” that features whitepapers with tips and advice to help businesses in their marketing efforts.

In addition to the traditional website, we have also improved our mobile presence for on-the-go visitors. Because people interact with brands differently on a mobile platform, information needs to be concise and highly visual in order to grab the most attention, in the quickest way possible. The new mobile site has been optimized specifically for smaller platforms. Everything from the navigation and design elements to the text and images have been built with the mobile user in mind.

While the overall design and color scheme have remained the same, the improved WDC website is a result of several months’ worth of preparation, deliberation, and development. Each element of the design has been carefully crafted to showcase our skills, while encouraging visitors to continue exploring the many facets our site has to offer.
